Intro to Quilting: Table Runner

In this 2-session class, you will learn the nuts and bolts of quilting (fabric selection, cutting and pressing techniques, 4 at a time HSTs (half square triangles), block construction, assembly of quilt sandwich, straight-line quilting, squaring up your quilt top, and binding) as you create a table runner.
Finished Size: approximately 32" x 16”
Students must bring the following materials and tools:
- Sewing machine and any accessories needed to operate
- Thread and bobbins
- Spare sewing machine needles (80/12 recommended)
- 16 fabric squares (8" on all sides) (8 squares should be medium dark, dark or brightly colored, and 8 squares should be contrasting
or low volume) - 3 fabric strips (2.5" wide x 40-44" long) for the binding
- 0.75 yards fabric for the backing
- Snacks and water
The Cottage will supply:
- Batting for table runner (included in the class fee)
- A table for each student with ample outlets
- Shared cutting mats, ironing boards, and irons.
